straight.love is a letter-writing platform. We take your privacy seriously because the things you write here are often things you've never said aloud to anyone.
What we collect
- Your username and password (stored securely, never in plaintext) — required to identify your account.
- Your email address — optional, required only to write letters and for account recovery.
- The letters and essays you write — stored in our database.
- Standard server logs — IP addresses, timestamps, request paths. Retained 30 days.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not read your sealed letters.
- We do not use your writing to train machine learning models.
- We do not share your personal information with third parties except as required by law.
Analytics and cookies
If you accept analytics via the consent banner, we record anonymized visit data to understand whether people find the site useful. If you decline, no analytics are collected. A single consent cookie is stored to remember your choice for one year.
Advertising
Google AdSense loads on every page. Until you accept the consent banner, ads serve in non-personalized mode using Google Consent Mode v2. After accepting, ads may be personalized using cookies set by Google. We never pass the contents of your letters to Google.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing reach-us@straight.love. We will process the request within 30 days.
